I eventually managed to find a world with a sandstorm in a bottle in it, so I rushed home to make the super neat accessory - the bundle of balloons! Short quest but at least we can get back to the main story and boss-pwning pathway from now on ;) and this accessory is actually super beneficial. I jump almost twice as high as our tree-house as long as I keep it equipped, that’s a crazy extra amount in comparison to without the balloons. I’m never taking it off :P
This is a screenshot of me also collecting red shiny balloons, as you need those too to create balloons for a bundle of balloons. I was just having a crazy fun time on the floating islands as I was… intoxicated… on gravitation potion ;) personally I just find it trippy, being upside down and everything.
I needed a sandstorm in a bottle for the final balloon but to find one, I needed a pyramid chest in the desert, and there’s none of those in this world :L. My only option was create new worlds over and over in the hope that one of them will have my bottle. One of the early worlds I made had a funky dungeon which looked half-ripped out of the ground! I feel sorry for any noob or player without wings that had to scale that gap between the dungeon steps and the floor. Crazy map :L not the first time I’ve seen it, though. Gotta love procedural generation ;)
After the blood moon, I went on a mini quest to find a blizzard in a bottle. I have an uncanny urge to create a bundle of balloons, but for that I need all the balloons and for that I need all the bottles.. It took a lot of digging for this part so I didn’t screenshot much, but eventually I stumbled upon a chest containing one. Thankfully! 1 balloon left to craft - the sandstorm one :P
Waiting for the blood moon to pass… We met a clown! Thankfully they no longer destroy blocks :D and now the water all becomes blood-red which is quite creepy.
- our house so far
Apologies everyone. This week I’m taking a break from posting anything. I kept telling myself to make a queue, but here we are at 3AM the day before I’m meant to be going abroad, and I’ve got nothing queued :( I’m sorry. I’ll be back next week Sunday, so I’ll pick this blog back up then.
What we’ve got coming up when I return is a blood moon, followed by a quest to craft the Bundle of Balloons so I can jump higher. I hope you all have a really great week and I’ll be back before you know it. Take care everyone ;)
We made a mini attic in hell so when we would teleport there, we’d have a nice bed to spawn at and also wouldn’t get immediately destroyed by demons and devils :D and look at that! The teleport works, over such a great distance as that! Now we save like a minute each time we want to travel down to hell, since we don’t have to fall all the way any more, but rather we can relocate our atoms :D
After I died to that Red Devil, I respawned to a beautiful sight: Patrick in a princess dress.
Look at the little tiara over his green mohawk. I’ve never seen something so punk-princess in my life.
Finally, I made it to hell, only to be confronted by a stupid Red Devil (a hardmode demon, which royally fucks you over)
About 75% down, it turns out my friends have been trawling the dungeon and found the Goblin Tinkerer, so it’s good to see they’re being productive for once ;)
I’d also like to point out how unsafe our hellevator is. We dug too far on accident and hit a lava pool,so instead of blocking off the dead end, we put a ton of ropes so you can grab on and miss the lava, but it’s such a close shave that you most likely die if you aren’t expecting it :L
Also, Angler Fish!
Down we go, through treacherous and revengeful fights with Ice Tortoises, and the thrilling warmth of lava on our backs. Patrick was serving as my bodyguard to fend off enemies as we went down, but he liked to wander off a lot :p
I took it upon myself to craft a linked teleport from our house, all the way down to hell. It required the expert engineering skill of “being committed enough to not give up”, and so I began my descent down the hellevator using climbing ropes and just spamming 10 platinum’s worth of wires by my side…
[ATTACH] As many of you know, we have currently been working this last month on Terraria 1.2.3! It has been a great experience working with two…
Terraria 1.2.3 changelog! It’s out!!!
Eventually we finished off Spazmatism and were just left with Retinazer to defeat. Patrick endearingly decided to set me up as bait so he could kill it off with the cannon, which you can see happening in the last screenshot. It worked, dealing like 300 damage and winning the battle for us :D
